Kids Matter rows to success in Great River Race
On Saturday, 21 September, around 300 boats took on the choppy waters of the Thames in a spectacular challenge event, raising thousands of pounds for charities across the UK. It was an unforgettable sight as teams rowed past some of London’s most spectacular landmarks.
Kids Matter was thrilled to participate in the Great River Race for the second year in a row and we’re proud to say we shaved off a minute from last year’s time, completing the 21.6-mile course in 2 hours and 55 minutes! The race holds special significance for us, beginning in Millwall, where our first and longest-standing partnership began, and ending in Richmond, the birthplace of Kids Matter. It is a poignant reflection of our journey, making the event all the more meaningful for our team.
Our goal this year was to raise enough funds to support 20 children in need – and we’ve just about hit that target! A huge thanks to the incredible fundraising efforts of each of our rowers and the support of all of those who gave to see children’s lives changed for the better.
If you’d still like to donate, there’s time! Visit our JustGiving page, which will remain live until 5 October. Kids Matter is entirely funded by generous contributions, and our parenting programmes are only possible with your support. The more we raise, the more children and families are impacted!
